Hillary: Just take some vacation.

It only takes a couple of days reading newpapers and watching cable news to realize that you will never be good enough for those guys. It does not matter what you do, you will be blamed.

You are being blamed right now, apparently, you need to redeem yourself for your crimes by campaigning for Obama full time. That was a nice touch saying that you would accept the VP position and I congratulate you for it. The media was starting to tell the story that you didn't want the job because of resentment and a sense of entitlement, you were being accused of enlarging the rift within the party. Of course, now they are accusing you of forcing Obama's hand and of course enlarging the rift within the party, there is always something.

I advise you to treat yourself with some well-earned vacation and let Obama deal with the GOP and us. Let's see what happens when the electorate is not the democratic base. The GOP probably has a big pile of fresh garbage ready for launch starting November and he will have to deal with it.

When he loses, you will be blamed: Yes I am pretty sure he will lose, his victory was incredibly close and you were charitable enough not to run any nasty ad with the material already available on him. With the republicans as an opponent and a more diverse electorate, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict what will happen. He will lose. The media will blame you, the Obama campaign will make innuendoes, what else is new?

As for your base, we will still be there next time.

(I need some vacation too, being pissed is exhausting)

Hope: a feeling of expectation and desire
Prediction : the act of predicting (as by reasoning about the future)

(But feel free to troll rate me anyway)

Hillary Clinton disagrees with you. (2.00 / 1)

I advise you to treat yourself with some well-earned vacation and let Obama deal with the GOP and us.

She realizes a Democratic victory in November is more important than petty squabbles, and will unite with us in the battle to defeat McCain. Saddle up!

next time? (2.00 / 2)

when ?

as you said, if Obama loses, she'll be blamed.

People like you just don't get it - there won't be a next time, unless she delivers her base this time.

They just want to beat up on her some more.  They keep bitching about HRC tearing the party apart.....I wish there was another party that was viable that I could be a part of.  I just don't know that I want to be a part of this one.

You doubt it?

Everything has been her fault up until now...

Re: reread (2.00 / 3)

Her base is not for her to deliver but for Obama to attract. If Obama doesn't get it it's HIS fault not hers.

You don't "deliver" a base... unless you are part of the ticket but clearely it's not going to happen.

you're going around in circles (none / 0)

"you don't 'deliver' a base...unless.." implies she could deliver her base, but of course you say her base can't be delivered.

that's why she wouldn't make a good VEEP - as you say, her base is not her's to deliver.

Re: you're going around in circles (none / 0)

Can your interpretation be more convoluted? What I way saying was pretty simple though.

Let me make it even more simple.

Base -> Her: The base goes to her
She cannot redirect it as she wants and deliver it to someone else.

If she is on the ticket, well the base still goes to her... and the ticket. understood?

no sense arguing with an idiot-right? Preblaming Senator Clinton for obama's failures seems to be the sop for his supporters.

Re: Hillary: Just take some vacation. (2.00 / 1)

Clinton is going to work for Obama in the general, and she's going to ask you to do the same.  Do you not trust her judgment?

If you don't, then why were you ever supporting her to commander in chief?

Re: Hillary: Just take some vacation. (2.00 / 2)

I am not 100% he will lose - I am still hopeful that he will win but I definitely felt she had a better shot.  However, I agree that if he loses somehow she will be blamed.  And that sucks hardcore.

Re: Hillary: Just take some vacation. (2.00 / 1)

Is advocating for a Republican victory in November encouraged at this site?

I thought this was a progressive, Democratic blog. Disparaging the progressive candidate and encouraging his defeat would seem to run counter to the goals of this place.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Come mon, I wes kind enough to look up the definition for prediction and hope in teh dictionnary and write them down for you, so maibe you should be kind enough to read the full diary before illuminating us with your comment.

Re: Hillary: Just take some vacation. (none / 0)

posting definitions doesn't do anything to change the tone of your diary.

You are advocating Hillary Clinton, one of the most important people in the Democratic Party, not working for the Presidential nominee of said party.

If that is really what you want her to do than by extension you want him to lose. It isn't hard to figure out.

Oh and you also said let Obama deal with the GOP and us (I am assuming by "us" you mean something other than people who will be supporting him.) Again, the implication is that you want him to lose.

What are you talking about?

She is old politics and would undermine his message of change...

Too old politics to be on the ticket,

Too old politics to campaign.

And finally why work when all you receive is horse shit being thrown at you?

And buy the way... what are you a mind reader?

Victory is something that the candidate must win for himself, someone else cannot do it for him. Wether Hillary campaign or not will make no difference.

Do you think Kerry lost because Dean didn't campaign enough for him? Whatever you are smoking you'd better stop.

"W[h]ether Hillary campaign or not will make no difference."

Um.  Way to sell Senator Clinton short.  I would imagine if she campaigned for any candidate, there'd be some difference.

If she campaigns for Obama, of course it'll help.

Help! (none / 0)

I agree Obama has a tough road ahead, perhaps a harder one than Hillary would have had but this is where we are at.  Sounding gleeful about his likley defeat (in your view) is no way to help at this point.  If we ALL do EVERYTHING we can to elect the Democratic nominee than we WILL be sucessful, because we MUST be.

I was feeling hopeful this morning (2.00 / 1)

Now, at the end of the day, I am feeling really pissed off and disillusioned.  Is there no end to the hate and vitriol that is to be heaped on Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton?  Between the news media and my fellow bloggers, I don't know who to be more disgusted with.  She won at least half, if not more of the votes in this election!  She represents millions of Democrats.  Why can't Obama supporters show some graciousness in winning?  Why?  Can't people be decent and realize that this woman has spent her lifetime in service to our country; trying to make this place better for all of us?  For all of you who insist on constantly denigrating her?  I was ready to jump on board, but I just don't know.  I'm very disappointed in many of my fellow Democrats.

Re: I was feeling hopeful this morning (none / 0)

Most of us are being gracious.

If you choose to focus on the jackasses that support Obama, you'll never fail to be depressed.

Most of us aren't like that, and you damned well know it.  This has been a very heated primary, with hurt feelings and bruised egos on both sides.

Please, forgive the least of us, and judge us by the lion's share of Obama supporters.  We want your help.  Just don't set expectations unreasonably high.  You're on an internet message board.  You will absolutely have to deal with a certain percentage of assholes, irrespective of whom they support.

And there has been, shall we say, a certain reluctance by some (this diarist, for example) to be gracious in return.

Obama will lose because he is bad and weak candidate, she said many times: he cannot win, she just stated the obvious.
If people want to blame her for stating the truth, it is ok, I can live with that.

Great Dairy. I hope she just suspends her campaign now, like John Edwards did earlier. She can keep her delegates until the convention.

I back her 100%. And I hope she keeps her delegates and influence until the convention.
